Resetting Permissions

Paddle Logger uses Apple Health to track your sessions and we need all the permissions the app asks for in order for the app to function fully and for you to get the best experience. We also need location access.

There is also an occasional bug in iOS where it can be necessary to reset the permissions in order for Paddle Logger to function correctly. This bug is particularly common after upgrading to a newer version of iOS.

Reset Health Permissions

Open the Settings app

Search for and tap on Health

Tap on Data Access & Devices

Tap Paddle Logger. Some people with Paddle Logger installed on both their iPhone and Apple Watch may see two Paddle Logger options here - please repeat the following steps with both.

Tap "Turn Off All"

Tap "Turn On All"

The absolute minimum permission that Paddle Logger needs to work is the ability to write to Workout Routes and Workouts, but please note that if you enable only these permissions, then it will not track your heart rate and calories. While you can give Paddle Logger permission to read data, this is not necessary for the app to work, and we would still not have any access to your data.

Reset Location Permissions

Open the Settings app

Tap on Privacy -> Location Services and scroll down until you see Paddle Logger.

Tap on Paddle Logger, then tap Never

Tap While Using the App. If you are on iOS 14 or above, ensure that Precise Location is enabled

Reset Workout Route Tracking for Apple Watch

From the Settings app -> Privacy -> Location Services, tap Apple Watch Workout

Tap Never

Tap While Using the App. If you are on iOS 14 or above, ensure that Precise Location is enabled

If you still experience issues please tap here to contact us from within the app.
